Love Story (On the margin)

I wrote this "poem" ,if you will, in 1995.....my writings are mainly for myself and my friends....however I do welcome any criticism and I value PRAISE :)

LOVE STORY (ON THE MARGIN)
The story begins with once upon a time there was a he & a she
He was only twelve & really had no real name
He lived in the nowhere she was almost just the same
His clothes dark shabby & soaked in grease
On top was a smutty smiling face as if in ease
Poorly but neatly the way she was dressed
Skinny nearly bony yet hers was a health blessed
He worked all day & slept in the same place
So much of a work ….dropouts of the life race
Clean up things or pick things up …but always with a scold
A hand laid… an object thrown… pride long been sold
She worked since ever she could remember
Farming… housework or caring for a new family member
Valueless the way she felt, valueless the way she was treated
Her eager eyes forced to be lowered…. the mind refused to be cheated
He glanced on the sky smoking the remaining of a cigarette thrown,
Putting aside the rest of a loaf for the next meal after dawn.
She lay on the floor trying to put herself to steep
Closing her tiny hands on a small box half full of money to keep
They were dreaming when awakened by a noise like rattle
"Human Rights" was the title of the conference in a nearby fancy hotel
& with “will they ever live happily ever after”, the story ends.

Resurrection

The choice of the title ?

As a devout Muslim, I believe in resurrection. Although quite different from the concept in Christianity and other religions. As a global human (I dare say I am ,to say the least, trying to be one) I believe in second chances . Whichever way you may perceive the meaning of resurrection I am glad I am writing again!

3 posts in 3 years.....not a very impressive record... I agree, but I hope I will be catching up.......to help I will follow the wisdom of an Egyptian saying "When a merchant goes bankrupt, he searches his old records" :)
I started this blog first in 2006 then started another one in 2007 http://hishamgamal.blogspot.com/
and thanks to a kind friend of mine I think I will carry on with this blog. Maybe in the unlikely event of overflowing writtings I will be using the other one as a backup.
Ok that's the plan and I will begin with a "poem" I composed in 1995....remember the bankrupt merchant saying :)
